RHINOPLASTY - NOSE AESTHETIC

Rhinoplasty is the name given to the operation to change the shape of the nose. With the aesthetic surgery of the nose, the bone and cartilage in the nose are changed without breaking the structure, so that the nose becomes compatible with other structures of the face.

The nose is the most visible organ on the face due to its location. The change in the nose provides a very significant change in the face of the person. It seriously changes the perception on one’s face.

With a rhinoplasty surgery, the nose can be reduced in certain proportions, if it has a belt, it can be removed if the tip is low, it can be thinned if the tip is too thick, the curvatures in the nose can be corrected, the nose tip can be lowered if it is excessively raised, and the nose can be raised if it is too low.

Our goal in aesthetic nose surgery is to achieve results such as beautiful and natural-looking noses that have never been operated. Our goal is not to make noses that have been carved from the back of the nose, the holes of which are visible from the front or are very small. When viewed from the side, the angle of the tip of the nose with the upper lip should be 95-100 degrees in women, while this angle should be 90-95 degrees in men. A good nose should not look like it was formed later on.

In summary, a well-applied aesthetic nose surgery is the nose that is compatible with your face and does not show that you have ever had surgery.

Healing Process

You can be discharged after being hospitalized for 1 night after nose surgery, and you can apply the treatment methods recommended by your doctor during the healing process.

What should I consider before the operation?

Oral intake of food or water should be stopped until at least 8 hours before the surgery. If there is any medication used (such as blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes), you should inform your doctor. Even any food supplements, teas containing vitamins or herbal ingredients should be discontinued 1 week before surgery.

Will there be tampons in the nose after the operation?

Nasal pad can be placed for a few days after septoplasty operations. Today, however, these tampons are made with soft and easy-to-remove properties. In fact, plastic, new generation bumpers with holes that will allow to breathe through the nose or self-melting are used frequently.

What awaits me after the operation?

●Oral feeding is not started for an average of 3-5 hours after general anesthesia.
● If you have a tampon in your nose after surgery, you may need to breathe through your mouth for a while.
● Although not very severe, you may have a small amount of pain, in this case, you can use painkillers recommended by your doctor.
● Feeding with warm and liquid foods is recommended on the first day after anesthesia, but there are no food restrictions frequently in the next period.
● During the healing process, it is recommended to sleep with a high pillow and on your back.
● There may be crusts in the nose due to leaks and operation. Your doctor will recommend nose wash solutions (ocean waters) for this.
● In the first few days of the operation, congestion may develop due to edema in the nose.
● When you need to sneeze, you can sneeze by keeping your mouth open.
● It is necessary to avoid intense and heavy exercises for the first 6 weeks.

When can I go back to school / work / normal life?

Recovery time varies personally. The average recovery time is between 1-4 weeks, but often patients can return to their normal lives after the third day of surgery and do their own work.
